Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
It feels so weird. I didn’t watch the first part of the Deathly Hallows, but tonight I came in about halfway through the second part and watched it. Somehow, after watching it, it feels like my childhood has just ended. Sure, I just finished my first semester of college and I’ve always kind of felt like an adult, but seeing that movie end was somehow different. The Harry Potter Series is around ten years old. I grew up with it. To see it end, I don’t know… It’s like a page has finally turned over in the chapter book of my life.
I remember going to midnight book releases and staying up a full 24hours to read them just so you could gloat about your time and chatter with your friends about how cool it was. I remember going to a Harry Potter camp. I was sorted into Ravenclaw, I made my own wand, I even learned how to do the proper ‘swish and flick!’ I read and wrote fan fiction, I dreamed about receiving my letter to Hogwarts, and when the time passed and I did not get one I was often tempted to put the idea in my mother’s head to send me one.
Now at age 19 I scrambled to get into pottermore and was surprised when I got Slytherin. I always figured I was a cusp house, but I guess I just felt glad to have a kind of assurance that I belonged in one of the two houses I loved. Even now I still look at Harry Potter stuff and wonder if I could get something in my house colors without seeming too childish. I’ve got a Ravenclaw scarf, but now I need to own something Slytherin.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that that series changed my whole life. Sure, I never finished reading all the books, but that in no way makes a difference. I learned about courage, respect, prejudice, consequences, and how my actions can affect myself and others.
Now, as I bring this post to a close I find myself looking through my extensive book collection for those old copies of Harry Potter. I happen to have a set of all but the last two books from England, and the other two copies are from America. Maybe it’s time for me to really finish…
I think it might finally be time for me to read them all, from “The Philosophers Stone” all the way to, “The Deathly Hallows.” I’ve got a few books I have to read before them, well, at least one, but after that, it will be time to really put my childhood into it’s special place in my heart and close that chapter for the last time.
I am burdened with glorious purpose.
- To say thank you to my followers and to celebrate The Avengers’ success, I have decided to do a giveaway.
This is my bargain.
- ONE medium sized box (approx 11” x 8.5” x 5.5”) full of Avengers/Marvel toys and merchandise.
How desperate are you?
- You can reblog this post a MAXIMUM of THREE times. Likes also count.
- Following me does not increase your chances of winning, so please don’t feel compelled to do so unless you just really enjoy an insane amount of Tom Hiddleston all over your dash.
- Yes, I will ship anywhere in the world.
- Please make sure your ask box is open so I can contact you if you win. I would hate to have to choose someone else.
Stalling won’t change anything.
- You have ONE WEEK from today. The giveaway ends Saturday, 26 May.
In the end, it will be every man for himself…good luck.
I’m totally in love with The Avengers!! Here’s to the chance to get some great merchandise possibly! :)
I was thinking of reading the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare but that idea just got thrown out the window.
**IMPORTANT SPOILER ALERT**
Now, usually I’m not one to read spoilers, but with this book series I absolutely had to. Needless to say, the spoiler put me right off the book and I’m now glad I read it. It is revealed that the two main lovers are brother and sister! Of course, in the end they aren’t actually related, but the fact still stands that at one point they believed they were related! No, I’m sorry, no. I refuse to believe that if two teenagers were madly in love and then they found out that they were related they would continue to have romantic feelings about each other. Sorry, I highly doubt that.
**SPOILER END**
Anyways, so yeah, I don’t think I’l be reading the series unless someone can give me a damn good reason to. Clockwork Angel is an amazing series, so I guess I’ll stick to that for now and simply not worry about the next generation. The books aren’t directly related after all.
Giveaway time! a couple of days ago I passed 500 followers and I decided I wanted to do a tiny giveaway, well now that there are already over 700 of you awesome peeps following me I wanted to let you know how much I love and appreciate every single one of you, so here it is.

Giveaway is open internationally, I will send this to whichever corner of Midgard you happen to be living at and I will also throw in there a couple of 8x10” prints in photographic paper of some of my fave Loki shots and a cute note with all my love.

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
*****/***** (5 of 5)
This book was a slight impulse buy when my great friend Bigblackbow showed me this store called “Ollie’s”, and man was I not disappointed! Seriously, I went back and forth on this constantly because I feared it wasn’t in my budget, but obviously my fear was in vain.
This story is a great fusion of steampunk Victorian London, Mythology, action, and suspense, with a dash of romance for flavor. The main character Tessa is highly intelligent and falls into the same trap I do of quoting books instead of giving the proper reaction to certain situations.
The plot line is rather fast at times making you think that you might lose something important, but it sucks you in immediately. The characters, though seemingly numerous at first and slightly confusing, quickly find a permanent place in my mind.
I would suggest this book to anyone and everyone, and I hope to get Bigblackbow to read it as well. It is such an awesome read and we’d be able to squeal over good reading together haha!
YOU GUYS NEARLY 11,000 OF YOU PUT UP WITH ME ON A DAILY BASIS. You guys listen to more of my crap than my own boyfriend generally does. That deserves rewarding. So this is an extra SPECIAL tea give away, and there will be THREE winners. Oh my god. Want a chance to become one of those lucky three people? Read on and follow directions.
THE PRIZES:
- First Place Prize: A set of all seven Sherlock Shipper tea blends [Sherlock/Moriarty, Sherlock/Irene, Moriarty/Moran, Mycroft/Lestrade, Lestrade/John, Lestrade/Molly, Molly/Moriarty]
- Second Place Prize: A set of all four* Avengers Teas [Thor, Loki, Steve Rogers, and Coulson *and possibly also Tony Stark if I make a tea for him soon]
- Third Place Prize: A set of all three Doctor Who Teas [The TARDIS, Amy Pond, and Rory]
- IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE PRIZE PACKS: Each winner will get ONE blend specially created for them. It can be a character or ship or show or book or whatever that I haven’t done that they’d like me to do. It can even be a blend made based on THEM. Whatever the winners would like. They each get to request one, and they will receive it with their other teas.
I MIGHT ADD TO THESE PRIZES. If this gets reblogged like, a lot, or something, I might lose my head and also send the winners mugs to go with their tea. Or a book. WE’LL SEE.
THE RULES:
- Anyone ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD can enter EXCEPT AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND!! I am SUPER sorry for my followers down under because not only do you have to put up with terrifying wild life, you can’t even allow tea to be imported to help comfort you. Sorry, there’s like, crazy laws and stuff.
- You do not have to be following me to win, but it might be helpful to keep track of updates or changes (if any). Plus I plan to make some blends for other fandoms in the future, so if tea is your thing, it might not be a bad idea?
- Only two reblogs a day allowed.I did not realize how often people would reblog my last big give away soooo I’m going to enforce this LOL. You can reblog on as many days as you’d like, but yeah, only 2 reblogs a day please. I’ll be checking.
- LIKES DON’T COUNT. Sorry! You have to reblog!
- The give away will end and I will choose the winners on FRIDAY JUNE 1ST. I’ll probably do the drawing late at night on that day, so I’m going to say I’ll stop counting reblogs at 10 p.m. EST. Winners may not be announced until the next day or so, just to be aware!
- Here’s how the winners will be selected: Just like all of my other give aways, I’ll compile a spreadsheet or numbered list of all of the reblogs, and I’ll use the number generator on random.org to chose a number and find the corresponding username on the list. The first number I draw will win the first place prize (or, if they are more into Avengers or Doctor Who, they may chose one of the other prizes). Second number I draw will win the second place prize (or a choice between whatever two packs remain), and the third number drawn will receive the last prize!
Fingers super crossed!! I would really like to win one of these teas. It’s a shame they’re relatively expensive or I’d buy them all myself
GAAAHHHHHHH!!! I’m still freaking out about the movie it was so good. I could seriously go out and watch it again right now. I know I shouldn’t like Loki, but some of the shit he did…

He’s such a little shit but I love him sooooooooooo much XD

What have I done?! What have I started watching? Black Books is absolutely comedic and I’m loving it. There are times it makes no sense and I just want to knock people’s heads together, but it’s great. I can’t wait to watch more!

7. The Worst Book You’ve Read This Year
Yikes, this is another really hard thing to say. I’ve had the pleasure to read mostly interesting books this year, so to give any a bad grade would be insulting. So, instead I will use a class book that we had to read titled “American Islam: The Struggle for the Soul of a Religion”. The book was rather drawn out and boring at times giving only short glimpses into something that could have been interesting. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about reading it again any time soon.

I could stare at this until I die.
OH MY GOSH! This gave me a great idea for “Samael”. I can’t wait to get time to work on it.

6. The best book you’ve read in the last year.
This is very difficult to pinpoint, but I’d have to say the honor goes to “Anna and the French Kiss”. It was extremely well written, the characters were lovable, and it left me begging for more. There were plenty of other amazing books this year, but this one really stood out because it took a story that I thought was going to be extremely corny and cliche, and made it interesting. Sure there were parts that I could guess at a mile away, but that just made it even nicer.
